It was the perfect day for a BBQ camping trip! With a group of friends, we set out to enjoy a day filled with food, laughter, and nature. This post documents our full journey—from prepping ingredients to a feast under the stars.
Shopping for BBQ Ingredients
We hit the market early to grab all our BBQ essentials. On the way, fruit stands lined both sides of the road—so tempting with their vibrant colors! Still, we stayed focused on the mission: a stove, gas, and charcoal were our top priorities.
We spotted an adorable little dog lying by the roadside, so cute it made us want to squat down and pet it. Our first food stop was for chicken wings, and the vendor not only had fresh meat but also kindly helped us chop it up.
A sweet little girl caught our attention—she was shopping with her parents and was absolutely adorable. We then grabbed beef and lamb, already marinated by the vendor—super convenient!
Back home, we cleaned the chicken wings and gizzards thoroughly. We prepped simple sides like green peppers and treated the meat with a little egg white and oil, giving it a gentle massage to lock in the juiciness. Skewering everything took over an hour, but it felt great to get everything ready for the next day’s feast.
BBQ & Camping Day
On BBQ day, everyone came prepared—some brought fruits, others brought utensils. Though some of us met for the first time, our teamwork felt like we’d known each other for ages.
Lighting the fire was tougher than expected. We struggled for a while, and in the meantime, whipped up a quick hotpot to satisfy our growing hunger.
After the warm meal, we relaxed with a spontaneous game of outdoor mahjong—it was such a vibe. Finally, the grill was ready, and the real BBQ began! The meat smelled heavenly as it sizzled over the coals, and we all gathered around, enjoying bite after bite.
While waiting for the next batch of food, the girls went off to a golden flower field nearby for some spontaneous photo-taking. As the sun set and the sky turned dark, we kept eating and laughing under the stars—it was an unforgettable experience.
This BBQ camping trip brought us closer, gave us a reason to slow down, and let us enjoy the little things—from prepping food together to laughing over a grill. Moments like these remind us of the joy in simplicity, and we’re already counting down to the next gathering!
